"Morice Mendoza worked for Haymarket first as Editor of Human Resources and then as Editor of World Business. He shared with us the company culture that we must aim to achieve the highest standards in our publications. He brought a dedication to the task in hand and we look back with gratitude to the work he did for us. We wish him every good fortune in his new business venture."

Between 2005-2008, Morice worked on the creation of the new magazine, World Business. Ahead of its time, it covered leading businesses and business leaders in China, India, Russia, Brazil and other emerging markets. It was circulated to 100,000 senior managers across the globe. Months before the financial crash of 2008 it featured articles on the looming danger caused by asset inflation including an article by Professor Niall Ferguson. The first issue covered the rise of the Chinese car industry and the threat it posed to the global auto leaders, then considered farfetched, and now regarded as fact. In this role, Morice also developed and launched Haymarketís Green Business Awards sponsored by eaga (now run by Management Today and ENDS). World Business was a Periodical Publishers Association (PPA) Highly Commended International Business Magazine in 2008.

Previously, Morice edited Human Resources magazine at Haymarket Business Media. Working with the legendary designer, Roland Schenk, he relaunched HR Magazine aimed at senior HR directors. Using humour and unending curiosity, Mendoza sought opinions and ideas from outside HRís traditional circles to inform the debate and highlighted the best HR directors as those focused on business performance. Morice interviewed figures like Brazilian businessman, Ricardo Semler, who argued forcefully against the need for any HR function at all. He provided space for great writers from unexpected quarters such as the political columnist Peter Oborne and the former News International marketer Ellis Watson to write challenging, humorous, and always illuminating pieces on the state of HR. In 2001, he won Editor of the Year (PPA).

Examples of articles include interviews with Will Hutton, Chief Executive, Work Foundation; Colin Povey, former CEO, Carlsberg-Tetley; Dame Stephanie Shirley, founder of the FI Group; Mick Rix, General Secretary, ASLEF; Ricardo Semler, Brazilian entrepreneur and author of Maverick; the late professor and management guru Sumantra Ghoshal; David Bell, Director of People, Pearson; Nicholas Coleridge, MD, Condť Nast. Columnists included: Peter Oborne, political journalist; Richard Donkin, workplace expert and author; Ellis Watson, former MD, Celador Productions; Janet Gaymer, Senior Partner, Simmons & Simmons; John Monks, former General Secretary, TUC. Morice also organised conferences and formed an HR network for top HR directors.
